At Nanyang Law, Marcelo is a key member of the Intellectual Property Department and his primary areas of expertise include Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications and Physics. He has over 15 years experience as a Patent examiner in the Brazilian Patent Office, and has work in various research and teaching roles in teaching roles for both the private and public sectors.

Marcelo has a PHD and Master of science in Aerospace Engineering at the INPE, and has a Bachelor in Electronic Engineering from the Santa Ursula University. He has also obtained professional and academic honors for Aerospace Mentions from SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers) and an Acknowledgement of a mathematical theorem.

Marcelo has previously published four technical books to INPE, a book chapter to Advances in Space Dynamics / Applications in Astronautics and technical-papers distributed in:  AIPIN Magazine (Asia Intellectual Property and Invention Network), SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers), AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics), Advances in Space Dynamics / Applications in Astronautics, ICONNE (International Conference on Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, Control and their Applications in Engineering Sciences), CBDO (Orbital Dynamics Brazilian Colloquium), Mechanical Sciences Brazilian Magazine, ISSFD (International Symposium on Space Flight Dynamics) and CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research).
