At Nanyang Law, Prathashini’s main areas of practice are in Intellectual Property (Trademark); i.e. clearance searches, filing, prosecution and maintenance of trade marks.  Her work also includes drafting, reviewing of correspondences and documents, filing of renewals, applications, and monitoring of Intellectual Property files and deadlines.

Prior to joining Nanyang Law LLC, Prathashini worked for two local IP firms where she gained over 5 years of extensive experience in the fields of Intellectual Property management. Her scope of work included trade mark filing and prosecution, advising clients on brand clearance and protection, international registration under the Madrid Protocol, domain name registrations, and assisting with enforcement/disputes/litigation/ opposition and other contentious matters. Her notable contribution was her involvement and assistance in a trademark opposition matter which went to trial and succeeded at trial. 

Apart from portfolio management, Prathashini has also previously published a number of articles and news updates on developments of the Intellectual Property (Trademark) developments in Singapore. One of her articles has also been featured in the international IP magazine, ‘Managing Intellectual Property (Managing IP)’ – which has been hailed as a leading source of news and analysis on all intellectual property developments worldwide.  

She has also previously interned during her undergraduate days at a reputable criminal law firm in Singapore, where she was involved in various pro bono cases and/or trials, and assisted in the trials for two high-profile capital punishment cases

Prathashini holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree from University of London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Bar from Manchester Metropolitan University. She is also qualified as a Barrister-at-law (Gray’s Inn, London), and as a ADR Group Accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator.
