Intellectual Property and Technology Practice
Prior to joining Nanyang Law, Lionel worked for a leading law firm in Singapore where he gained four and a half years of experience in all aspects of patent law, in particular, preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications as well as advising on enquiries relating to Singapore Patent Law. Lionel was also seconded to a leading Intellectual Property firm in Auckland, New Zealand for six months in 2007 during which, under the mentorship of a Partner, he gained experience in drafting patent specifications, conducting novelty searches, infringement and validity opinions and responding to Office Actions.
Lionel has had experience prosecuting patent applications in a broad range of technology areas including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering related industries.
Lionel has completed the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law Course in NUS (Merit), the South-East Asian Drafting Course conducted by Fédération International des conseils en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI) and is currently studying towards becoming a registered Patent Agent in Singapore.
